Luck, happenstance, and information from our B&B manager, got us to explore this park in a different manner. The tranquil walk in the Upper Lakes, and the trail with gazebos high above in the Lower Lakes area, would be my recommendation to experience the park’s beauty, away from the crowds.

From 1950 until 1989, it served as the Yugoslav National Army’s base, out of bounds to foreign visitors. It still has the air of an unspoilt paradise.
Hvar comes with a tag of “one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world.” And despite its reputation as a party town, there are many things to do in Hvar for families.
