11 Best Caribbean Family Friendly Resorts
We have covered 11 best Caribbean resorts for families across Antigua, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman, Grenada, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Turks & Caicos.
Antigua: St. James Club
We’ve recently spent a fun week at the family friendly all inclusive resort St James Club in Antigua. What we loved about it was that it had lots for kids to do so that as adults we didn’t have to think too hard about keeping our kids entertained each day. The room was a good size, clean and really comfortable beds – we had a small ground floor terrace which was perfect for our kids to play on whilst we got ourselves ready to go out.

Hotel Amenities
There’s a great kids club with plenty of organised activities. Also there was plenty to do as a family such as splashing in one of their 5 swimming pools, taking out the water sports equipment, and eating at one of the several all-inclusive restaurants. The restaurants were really family focussed as they had early seating times so that families could dine early.
Breakfast was good with loads of options including a fun smoothie making bar, but you had to make sure to get there early before it gets too full, not a problem for us with our early waking kids! The hotel team were super helpful. We especially loved the way the beach team helped us get the kids onto the water sailing and paddling – anything to help them stay cool.
It’s location is perfect for heading out on day trips to see the other parts of the island. Some of the best things to do in Antigua include swimming with stingrays, dancing at Shirley Heights and learning about the history at Nelson’s Dockyard. If you’re into discovering the local beaches, then two of our favourites, Half Moon Bay and Galleon Bay, are just a short drive from the resort.

Curacao: Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort
For families seeking a true Caribbean island experience in Curacao but want the conveniences of a resort, Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort is the place to be! Located in the heart of Curacao’s capital, Willemstad, this modern resort is located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, museums, and historic highlights. What’s not to love?
Its ideal location makes the Renaissance Wind Creek an ideal base for exploring the rest of the island too, with a convenient car rental office just across the street. With over 40 beaches to discover, there’s something new to check out every day.
Explore the island during the morning and come back to cool off at the beach or pool at the resort. This caters to families wanting a bit of exploring and relaxing during their vacation.

Hotel Amenities
The Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort is perfect for families since it has its own man-made beach – the only one of its kind in Willemstad! There is also a kid-friendly infinity pool. Rooms are spacious, and if budget allows, book an oceanview room. The cruise port is close by and you can watch the ships pulling in and out of the dock which is fun for kids and adults alike.
There is a kids club and babysitting services available, giving parents the chance to visit the on-site Casino or try out a romantic restaurant close by in the Rif Fort next door.
While all-inclusive is offered as an option, Willemstad (and Curacao as a whole) has so much to offer in terms of dining options that it’s worth booking the European Plan so you can explore and taste the flavours of the island!

A favorite activity are the nightly shows for entertainment, the resort has two shows. There is a fun and exciting kid friendly show. Dominican Republic: Hard Rock Punta Cana
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana isn’t your average all-inclusive family friendly resort in the Caribbean! When I arrived at Hard Rock, I was blown away by its massive size and energy. It’s like a mini-city where you never have to leave until it’s time to go home.
The luxurious rooms all have hydro spa tubs and balconies, with a pillow menu and aromatherapy scents for added comfort. Plus, the Sound of Your Stay program provides guitars and a turntable on request.

Hotel Amenities
When I checked in, my Rock Royalty Personal Assistant was assigned to be on call for any needs, making me feel like a VIP. This all-inclusive resort has 9 restaurants, including my favourites, Ciao for Italian cuisine and Zen for sushi and Asian dishes. With 13 swimming pools, including four swim-up bars and three kids’ pools with waterslides, there’s water-refreshing fun on all levels.
The kids’ clubs are fantastic. My husband loved the golf course. We even tried our luck at the casino and danced the night away at the nightclub. There’s also a mini-golf course, an arcade, a beauty salon, and fitness and yoga centers. The spa was perfect for some serious relaxation. Although I didn’t bring my dog, I was pleased to see that they offer the Unleashed program for pets, treating them like rock stars too.
One of the coolest features is the Music Lab, where you can record yourself and live out your dreams of being a recording artist. Guests can join Jam Band, where, no matter your skill level, you choose an instrument, then a Rock Specialist will coach you through rehearsals until it’s time to perform live!
If you’re looking for a bustling, activity-filled vacation, Hard Rock Punta Cana is perfect. If you prefer a quieter, more intimate experience, or if you’re traveling with a child who has sensory issues, it might not be your jam.

Grenada: Calabash
When I travelled to Grenada, I was looking for a seaside resort—something luxurious to pamper me with a spa day. And right along the coast so I could hop on to a beach anytime I wanted. A friend recommended Calabash Hotel in Grenada, which perfectly fits everything I was looking for!
I am glad I booked a junior suite at Calabash Grenada, as it was an excellent choice for a couple seeking privacy and luxury. The suite was spacious, with high ceilings and natural light filling all the corners. The private balcony overlooking the sea was the highlight of our stay at Calabash. You can also enjoy a delicious breakfast sitting on a balcony, soaking in the morning sun.

Hotel Amenities
Be it the poolside dining at Izakaya or an elegant date night at Rhodes Restaurant, Calabash Grenada can add a touch of romance to any day. The service is impeccable, making Calabash Grenada one of the best Caribbean resorts for families. Check for the best time to visit Grenada as you start planning your Caribbean vacation.
After spending more than half a day visiting Annandale Waterfalls and hiking through the surrounding forested area, my aching back and feet begged for some pampering. And that’s what Calabash Spa offered generously. The Ultimate Re-hydration Therapy with a massage and body wrap are just what you need when vacationing in Grenada.
If you are travelling with kids or other family members, a deluxe suite or a pool suite would be perfect. The Calabash Grenada is less than 10 minutes away, and all bookings include complimentary return airport transfers.

Accommodations at The St. Regis boast elegantly appointed rooms and suites that blend sophistication with comfort. The interiors are spacious and feature local artwork, with private terraces offering stunning views of the ocean, gardens, or golf course. The culinary offerings at the resort are top-notch, with options ranging from fine dining to casual beachside snacks, all utilizing fresh local ingredients. Note that dining can be on the expensive side.
Activity-wise, the resort does not disappoint. It boasts a beach, tennis courts, a championship golf course, and the tranquil Iridion Spa. Families will appreciate the kids’ club and various family-oriented activities, while couples can enjoy the romantic settings and upscale amenities.
A travel tip: Utilize the resort’s bespoke Butler Service for an even more tailored and hassle-free experience. Overall, the St. Regis delivers an unmatched blend of luxury, service, and natural beauty, perfect amongst the luxury Caribbean resorts for families.

Jamaica: Beaches Ocho Rios
This tropical island delivers on white sandy beaches and deep blue waters. Your stay in Jamaica will likely be in the north tourist corridor at Negril, Montego Bay or at Ocho Rios. I recommend the all-inclusive Beaches Resort at Ocho Rios for a family vacation. Beaches Resort is spread over a large area, it has a private white sand beach, 5 swimming pools, and everything else that makes for a great family beach getaway.
If you are wondering how many days to spend in JamaicaI would recommend Jamaica itinerary for 5-7 days in this Carribean island.

Hotel Amenities
Rooms come in variations from one room to four bedroom suites. Plus, three levels of service (luxury, concierge and butler), and there are different areas (or villages) within the resort to choose from. Some of the basic rooms can do with better upkeep though. Beaches Ocho Rios has 7 different restaurants to choose from.
The private beach is not huge, but pretty and the water is beautiful. We enjoyed a variety of water sports on offer, all part of the all-inclusive package: snorkelling, banana boat ride and a short sailing experience. The water park at the resort was a super-hit with everyone in our group, as was the main pool area.
A lot of thought has gone into creating a destination that will appeal to families. There are Sesame Street-themed kids camps and camps for tweens and teens. They had a fantastic Sesame Street stage shows set up for the kids during the week and even had a circus one night.
The adults-only Opa Sunset bar overlooking the sparkling Caribbean Sea was a bonus… pure vacation bliss.

Jamaica: Royalton Negril Resort
If you are looking for options for family friendly resorts all-inclusive in the Caribbean, consider the Royalton Negril Resort in Jamaica for your next family adventure. This all-inclusive resort is located on the Negril Beach, close to the famous Seven Mile Beach. Check-in was handled quickly even with many people arriving at one time.

In addition, you’ll enjoy a variety of restaurants on-site, a fitness center to burn off all those buffet calories, beautiful views, and sunsets to Instagram about. The resort boasts of a private beach area and several swimming pools. Plus a splash pool for kids and a plethora of water activities to enjoy. There are 9 restaurants and 7 bars within the resort.
Not only is the Royalton Negril perfect for families, but it also has an adults only section if you are planning a romantic getaway. There are definite perks to an adults only resort in Jamaica!

Turks and Caicos: Beaches Resort
Beaches Turks and Caicos is a fantastic option amongst the all-inclusive Caribbean family friendly resorts. Giving new meaning to the term ‘all-inclusive’, Beaches includes not only food and drink, but also complimentary watersports, scuba diving (for certified divers), and other amenities. This includes complimentary childcare for children as young as newborns and a water park sure to delight kids and adults alike.
Part of the larger Sandals Resorts brand, Beaches follows Sandals’ policy prohibiting staff from accepting tips (with narrow exceptions such as a butler and spa staff) so you may not even need to open your wallet the entire time.

Hotel Amenities
Food is a highlight of Beaches Turks and Caicos, with 20 sit-down restaurants and 3 food trucks from which you can grab food on the go. There’s something to please everyone, from the pickiest kids who want chicken nuggets at every meal to the gourmet who wants to sample sushi and French, Indian and Caribbean cuisine.
Although you could easily spend all your time at Beaches’ amazing pools and waterpark, it would be a shame not to take advantage of the beautiful setting on Grace Bay, regularly named one of the top beaches in the Caribbean. There are so many ways to take advantage of this beautiful beach, from lounging on a cabana to snorkeling, sailing and paddleboarding, to having a complimentary family photoshoot at sunset (photos available for purchase).
Downsides to Beaches include the cost and the somewhat chaotic arrival experience at the airport. If getting to the resort quickly is a priority you may want to pay for a taxi rather than relying on Beaches’ complimentary shuttle, which can have a long line, especially on Saturdays.
