This Japan itinerary will appeal to first-time visitors, who want to balance cultural immersion in Kyoto along with time spent in neon-lit cities of Tokyo and Osaka. For our 2 weeks in Japan, we focused on the classic Golden Triangle route – Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. But also added smaller towns like Koyasan, Himeji, Hiroshima and Miyajima Island.
