A 10-minute ride on a funicular takes you to the mountain peak. There is also a restaurant at Harder Kulm and I can’t imagine a more scenic restaurant than this.

On Day 2 of your Bernese Oberland itinerary, make your way to a once-in-a-lifetime journey to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe. The train ride itself is a must-do experience on its own and one of the top family fun activities in Switzerland with kids. You can marvel at the breathtaking landscapes as you ascend through the Eiger and Mönch mountains. At the top, you’ll be greeted with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers. Jungfraujoch is perhaps as famous as Matterhorn, in the iconic Swiss Alps town of Zermatt.
After taking in the stunning views, head inside to explore the Ice Palace and experience the wonders of an ice tunnel. If you’re feeling adventurous, take a walk on the Glacier Plateau. Or visit the Sphinx Observatory for even more spectacular views. Also, if you’re in the mood for Swiss chocolate, there’s a Lindt Chocolate Shop at the top of Jungfraujoch.

One of the best things to do in Grindelwald is to take a cable car up to First Mountain. Don’t miss the adrenaline rush of the First Flyer here. This is a thrilling zipline that takes you flying through the mountains at speeds of up to 84km per hour! It’s truly an unforgettable experience.

More activities that you can enjoy at Grindelwald First is riding mountain carts and/or trottibikes down the mountain! We opted for the trottibikes and it was probably the most vivid memory of our time in Switzerland. The ride down First was stunning, with towering mountains, the sound of cowbells, and beautiful green grass everywhere. It didn’t feel real! Grindelwald is a must stop during any Bernese Oberland Switzerland itinerary.
Day 5: Schilthorn and Piz Gloria
