Warm spring break destinations for families: Florida
Destin, Florida
Destin is an iconic American family beach destination because there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy! This sunny southern city is known as the Emerald Coast for its shallow and clear blue-green waters.
What to do: One uniquely Destin spring break activity to enjoy as a family is Crab Island, which is a sandbar with shallow water for miles! Think of it as a beachy picnic with water games and all kinds of floating food and drink vendors. Or take the whole family to the Destin Harborwalk for games right on the water as well as boat tours and other excursion options. Don’t forget the classic boardwalk and fair-style food.

And Destin is just a short drive to the equally beautiful watercolor beaches of Seaside and 30A, Florida. So take a day trip to this relaxing area for a slightly slower pace.
Where to stay: I highly recommend booking the Henderson Beach Resort & Spa for family-friendly fun. For the little ones, there’s a splash pad and the Poppy Kids Club. As an adult, I loved the luxurious rooms, service, and onsite spa. At this property, the whole family can enjoy daily lawn games and bike rentals. The convenience of private access to Henderson Beach is another major plus, in my book.

Spending a day at Bahia Honda State Park is of the best things to do in the Florida Keys for families, with plenty of swimming, snorkeling, and picnicking on one of the area’s most picturesque beaches. The park fills up fast during the spring and summer months, so be sure to arrive early to get a spot!

If you are looking for a beach destination for your next spring break, Oahu is a wonderful choice. There are lots of fun family-friendly activities and beautiful beaches. During the months of March and April, you can expect to find pleasant weather although some days might be a little bit windier. If there is rain in the forecast, it will only last for an hour or so on most days.
What to do: Some of the best family-friendly beaches are Waimanalo Beach, Ko Olina Lagoon 4, and White Plains Beach. Many of the other beaches have a strong current or are very rocky and swimming is not recommended there. Central Oregon
Central Oregon makes for a great, family friendly spring break destination for families who love the outdoors and love to hike. With its high desert climate, this region shows a side of Oregon many people aren’t familiar with. And it offers a stunning, rugged beauty you won’t want to miss.
What to do: Two of the best cities to stay here are Sisters and Bend. Sisters has a Wild West vibe, as all the shops display an 1880s store front. Both cities offer easy access to outdoor activities in the region.
From Sisters or Bend, you can visit two of Oregon’s Seven Wonders within an hour or two drive. Smith Rock State Park has been nicknamed Oregon’s Yosemite, and offers hiking, horseback riding, and rock climbing. And Painted Hills offers a series of shorter hikes, weaving between vibrant red and yellow hills, made brilliant from their various mineral deposits.

Where to stay: Bend is a little larger than Sisters, and a fun place to stay here is the McMenamin’s Old St. Francis School. This historic school-turned-hotel holds quirky “secret rooms” that are fun to discover together as a family. Or the Newberry Hotel Bend by Hilton, if you are looking for a regular hotel.
Whereas much of Oregon west of the Cascades is likely to be wet and rainy over spring break, Central Oregon is more likely to have drier weather. Although you may still encounter a few light snow flurries, so be sure to bring warm jackets, hats and gloves.

Nashville, Tennessee
When the weather begins to warm and the trees blossom, a trip to Nashville, Tennessee, makes the perfect family-friendly destination for a Spring Break getaway!
What to do: Nashville may be known for it’s music, but there are also numerous museums and educational experiences for families to enjoy as well. You can take a golf cart tour with a local guide to enjoy the city’s top sights. Whether you want to get a hands on science exploration at the Adventure Science Center or a history lesson at Andrew Jackson’s estate, the Hermitage, there is really something for every taste! Music lovers will also enjoy the Country Music Hall of Fame and their interactive kid areas.
If you are looking for more of a nature based outing to really enjoy the mild weather, consider visiting the Cheekwood Estate and Gardens filled with the most amazing gardens and topiaries. You can spend the day relaxing and enjoying the grounds, tour the Cheekwood Mansion, and participate in some of the family-friendly activities. And if you visit don’t forget to visit the Cheekwood trains which are a hit with family members young and old.

Where to stay: For a truly incredible stay, I recommend booking a room at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center. There is nothing like this fabulous resort with it’s many attriums to explore. And resort guests can take advantage of Soundwaves, Oprylands luxurious indoor water park!
Families planning a longer stay might also prefer the flexibility of furnished rentals. Blueground’s furnished apartments in Nashville are designed with comfort in mind, offering spacious layouts and full amenities in family-friendly neighborhoods.
Nashville is a fantastic destination at any time of year, but there is something about the newness of spring, that makes this southern city come to life for every member of the family.
